Band of rain, snow heading toward area

After needing extra layers because of the cold early Tuesday, a quick warm-up followed.

Wind chills started the day in the 20s, with highs pushing into the 50s during the afternoon.

TRENDING NOW:

A quick moving system will roll in Tuesday night, bringing a quick shot of precipitation. Rain showers will break out after 10 p.m. and change to snow showers from northwest to southeast across the area after midnight.

A coating of snow is possible, especially on grassy surfaces before the snow pushes out before sunrise.

Lingering flurries and breezy conditions will stay with us Wednesday, with highs only in the mid-30s.

Thanksgiving day looks dry, but chilly, with highs in the lower 40s.
