Calmer, cooler weather to return to area

PITTSBURGH — After a few days of severe weather alerts, thunderstorm warnings and tornado watches, Pittsburgh is expected to get much calmer weather over the next few days.

It may rain still, but the tornados and severe storms are behind us for now.

A front is pushing through the region driving warm, humid air to the east, which will deliver cooler, drier, more comfortable air into the region for the weekend.

An isolated shower is possible Saturday, though most locations will remain dry.

A weak disturbance will produce a few showers on Sunday, especially north of Pittsburgh, but strong storms are not expected.

Much cooler air will remain through mid-week, with highs on Monday and Tuesday in the upper 60s to near 70 with low humidity.

The warmer, more humid weather will return later in the week.
