Cold temperatures ahead of quick-hitting systems bringing chances for snow, rain

PITTSBURGH — Wind chills in the teens will have you grabbing your coat early Thursday, and that cold air could set the stage for some snow early Friday. A complicated southern storm will move into the area before midnight Thursday, and it could push snow as far north as Pittsburgh by the Friday morning commute.

A coating to an inch of snow cold make roads icy early Friday, but any snow that falls should shut down before sunrise, limiting the impacts around Pittsburgh. South of Pittsburgh a couple of inches of snow could slow the drive.

Severe Weather Team 11 is also tracking another system that could bring snow or a wintry mix back into the area Sunday. It's still early, and the track of this storm is uncertain, but the threat of accumulating snow or a wintry mix is in the forecast. Impacts to the Monday morning commute are possible-so stay with Channel 11 and our team of meteorologists as we fine tune the track and timing.
