ROAD CLOSURES DUE TO FLOODING, EXPECTED FLOODING

SATURDAY NIGHT UPDATE:

Rain is starting to fall, and will get heavier through Saturday night into early Sunday morning. The strongest storms will move through the area between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Flooding is still possible because of the heavy downpours, especially near rivers and areas of poor drainage.

The National Weather Service has also lowered the total rainfall expected. However, it said much of the Ohio River is still forecast to approach or surpass minor flood levels.

According to the NWS, river flood watches remain in effect for much of the Ohio River and parts of the lower Monongahela River.

SATURDAY

A flood watch is in effect and the risk for flooding continues through the weekend. Another 1 to 2 inches of rain is forecast through Sunday.

There are also several landslides in Allegheny County, and more are happening as the rain continues to fall.

Crews are monitoring landslides and flooding around the area and emergency crews are prepared.
