Scattered, severe storms move through area

UPDATE 11:30 p.m.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for parts of the area through Saturday morning.

Rain will move into the area early Friday-impacting the morning commute.

Periods of rain and thunderstorms will continue to cross the area into Saturday morning.

Up to 2" or more of rain is possible by late Friday night in the watch area.

Watch for ponding of water on roads and potential hydroplaning.

The Flash Flood Watch includes Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Washington, Latrobe, Uniontown, Waynesburg, Kittaning, Indiana and Morgantown.

Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways-"Turn Around-Don't Drown."

Severe storms are moving through Indiana County with winds gusting up to 60 mph, along with heavy rains.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for parts of the area for Friday and Friday night.

Heavy rain will move into the region early Friday morning.  Periods of rain and thunderstorms will continue to cross the area into Saturday morning.  2 inches or more of rain is possible by late Friday night in the watch area.

The Flash Flood Watch includes Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Washington, Latrobe, Uniontown, Waynesburg and Morgantown.

Summer weather is coming

Summer hits full-on across the area this afternoon.

Heat and humidity will be on the rise throughout the day. High temperatures will push into the mid 80s this afternoon, but with the humidity it will feel closer to 90 degrees.

A few showers and storms will cool off some neighborhoods this afternoon. Any storms that develop will produce brief heavy rain and gusty winds.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will taper off early this evening before steadier, heavier rain moves in for Friday. The remnants of what is now Tropical Storm Cindy will push moisture into our region ahead of a cold front Friday and Friday night.

Much of the area will see at least an inch of rain through Friday night.  No flood watches have been issued yet.
