• Severe storms roll through parts of region

    UPDATE 6:55 p.m. 

    Strong storms and gusty winds up to 45 mph are possible in Clarion. 


    UPDATE 6:01 p.m. 

    Dangerous lightning is in the area and moving east. 


    UPDATE 5:43 p.m. 

    Localized flooding and winds up to 45 mph are possible in Cranberry, Ellwood City and Butler. 

    Several traffic lights are also out on McKnight Road due to a power outage. 


    UPDATE 5:30 p.m.


    UPDATE 5:14 p.m. 

    A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 6 p.m. for Allegheny, Butler and Washington counties. Wind gusts up to 60 mph and large hail is possible. 


    UPDATE 5:53 p.m. 

    Strong winds and heavy rain are possible for Pittsburgh, Robinson Township, Moon Township and Franklin Park. 


    UPDATE 4:47 p.m. 

    Damaging winds could cause power outages in some areas Tuesday evening. 


    UPDATE 4:43 p.m.

    Strong storms are moving into Beaver. A strong storm is also moving toward Connellsville, where there could be some hail along with heavy rain.


    UPDATE 3:20 p.m. 

    A weak (EF 0) tornado was confirmed from Monday's storms around 4 p.m., damaging trees and a corn field. No structures were damaged. 

    The tornado was confirmed near Fombell to Lancaster Township in Beaver and Butler counties. 




    Showers and storms are expected to be in the area through Tuesday evening. Some storms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds.  

    Widespread severe weather is not in the forecast, but a few areas could see enough rain to cause localized flooding. 

    The chance for showers and storms will continue through the week.
