The moon will start to block the sun shortly after 1 p.m. this afternoon, with nearly 80 percent of the sun being covered up at 2:35 p.m. The sun will fully emerge from behind the moon in our area shortly before 4 p.m.
Many of you will get a good glimpse of the sky between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., with many sunny breaks between the clouds this afternoon. Make sure to only try viewing the eclipse with ISO-certified safety glasses.
