Robin Gibb died today after long battles with colon and liver cancer. He was 62.
"The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time," family spokesman Doug Wright told ABC News.
The Bee Gees singer, born in Machester, England, astounded doctors in April when he overcame "quite incredible odds" by awakening from a coma in London. Gibb's coma was caused by pneumonia which he developed after having two surgeries in two months.
