I consider myself a bit of a dare devil. I'm usually not scared to do anything unless it involves high risk of injury. One thing that I absolutely love to do is go on rides at the fair. Many of you are probably thinking, fair rides? You consider yourself a dare devil because of that? Think about it, rides are set up in a day, and then everyone rides on them all week like they are cemented into the ground. It's a bit sketchy.
One of my favorite rides is the one that you get strapped into (the straps are always too big) and it slowly swings back and forth until it finally goes upside down and in a full circle. That feeling you get in your stomach when you pause in the air and your looking straight down at the ground is the main reason I ride this ride every summer.
This feeling is the same feeling that you get when you ride Kennywood's new ride, The Black Widow. In a way The Black Widow is similar to the previously described fair ride. It swings back and forth and gets up pretty high. The difference is it is a huge circle with seats around the outside. When the ride starts to swing, the circle of seats spin. I know, this sounds like a pretty intense ride, and it is. The best part is you get to the very highest the ride takes you, and you stop, suspended in the air for a second before you swing back down towards the ground.
So for all of you people out there that enjoy amusement park rides and especially everyone that enjoys fair rides, take a trip to Kennywood before the summer season is over. Tickets are priced well and the lines aren't that long either! It is definitely worth the money.
And don't forget, don't miss out on a chance to ride all the rides at night! Fright nights in October are the best!
