Internet Multimedia Specialist - (Full-time)
The ideal candidate has excellent judgment, superior interpersonal and people skills and a strong sense of visuals.
Responsibilities: In this position, you will generate new content, principally for WPXI.com; Cover events in and around Pittsburgh; Write, produce, shoot and edit Internet segments…This position includes on-camera work.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must have clear understanding of Internet and mobile media platforms and terminology.
- Must be able to write, produce, shoot and edit web segments
- Strong writing/reporting skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with strict deadlines
- Familiarity with AVID Newscutter, iNews and PhotoShop a plus
- Familiarity with CMS tools, web page building and some HTML a plus
The employee will also work closely with others in the Web/Creative Services department.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year college or university in communications, journalism, marketing and/or broadcasting; and 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ignite Director
Description of Duties:
WPXI has an immediate opening for an Ignite Director. The successful candidate’s primary duties will be directing fast paced live newscasts driven by breaking news. Additional duties will include directing talk shows, sports specials and public affairs programs using the Grass Valley Ignite automation system. Position will require leadership, sound judgment under pressure, a strong technical background and the ability to adhere to our news ‘look’. You must have the ability to interact with our experienced staff to present consistent, winning news broadcasts.
Requirements:
A strong and creative knowledge of state-of-the-art newscast elements is mandatory. You must have the ability to organize and incorporate a wide mix of broadcast components (satellite feeds, interviews, breaking news, server playback, advanced graphics systems, etc.) into each program. Prior directing experience with Ignite or similar newscast automation systems and the Avid iNEWS system in a medium or major market is required.
We are looking for someone that can bring a fresh, positive focus to our productions. Director must have strong computer knowledge combined with the energy and initiative to manage a fast-paced work environment. News is a 24/7 business so be prepared to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays; B.A. in related field preferred.

Production Specialist (Full-time)
Reports to: Production Manager and Directors
Job Identification: The purpose of this position is to support our many television broadcast products through the operation of technical equipment.
Specific Duties: Support the production of WPXI/PCNC/WPGH broadcast product by fulfilling any number of the following duties: Robotic camera operations, teleprompter, voice captioning, ENG cameras, non-linear editing, lighting, grip, set construction, studio maintenance, associate producing or any other assigned task.
- Execute assignments to meet company goals and help control expenses.
- Work closely with News, Sales, Engineering and Creative Service staff as a single team.
- Execute COX policies and programs related to this position.
Qualifications:
- Two years training in television production.
- Experience and proven ability to operate complex television production equipment.
- Proven ability to work well with fellow employees and departments.
- Proven ability to accomplish assignments in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office (or closely related software).

PCNC/METV Sales Manager
Cox Media Group, in America’s most livable city of Pittsburgh, has an immediate opening for a Sales Manager to lead the sales efforts of Pittsburgh Cable News Channel (PCNC) and Memorable Entertainment Television (METV). The Sales Manager will be responsible for training the sales team, developing new business on television, internet and mobile, managing inventory and accurately forecasting business on both properties.
The ideal candidate must be skilled in hiring successful account executives, training, creating new business opportunities and having a proven track record generating online revenue. Client contacts at the local level and previous management experience are preferred.
Candidate must be fluent in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OSI and CMR reports. Fundamental understanding of how to use marketing research is preferred. Outstanding oral and written communications skills are a must. Significant client entertainment is an integral part of this position.
College degree is preferred.
