Wolf administration partners with Amazon Web Services to expand e-commerce for small businesses

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development under Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration announced on Tuesday that it is launching a new program with Amazon Web Services.

The program is meant to expand e-commerce opportunities for small businesses in the state and to make it easier for residents of the Commonwealth the buy locally when shopping online. The project is the first of its kind for AWS.

“In this new economic landscape brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, consumers want to do more of their shopping online,” DCED Secretary Dennis Davin said in a statement. “It’s more critical than ever for small businesses to be able to sell their products online. This partnership with AWS is a key piece in our greater efforts to support small businesses expanding their e-commerce presence or starting to sell their products online for the first time.”
