Local state lawmaker pushing for smoking ban in casinos, private clubs

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A local Pennsylvania state lawmaker is pushing for a smoking ban in casinos and private clubs.

State Rep. Dan Frankel, representing Allegheny County, is introducing a bill that would amend ‘The Clean Indoor Air Act.’

Portions of casinos, certain bars and private clubs are exempt.

For example, the law allows smoking on certain parts of the gaming floor.

One of the goals of this new legislation is to protect employees being exposed to secondhand smoke.
