Pittsburgh prepares for busy weekend with Three Rivers Arts Festival, Pride

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh is preparing for a busy weekend with the 2023 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival and Pittsburgh Pride events.

There will local artists, food vendors and live music downtown.

The location of the arts festival has changed. In the past, the festival was at Point Park.

Sarah Aziz of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust told Channel 11 the festival is still in the heart of the Cultural District, but the main stage has been relocated along Fort Duquesne Boulevard.

The Pittsburgh Pride Festival kicks off at noon downtown. This year’s theme is “Revolution.”

Thousands are expected to participate and the mayor’s office told us they are prepared and expect a safe weekend.

“The Department of Public Safety is thrilled not only to have many of its personnel participating in Pittsburgh Pride events, but also to be working to keep everyone safe as the march and parade moves through the city. Motorists should take note of the parade route and 12 noon start time to plan an alternate route, if necessary,” said Public Safety Director Lee Schmidt.

In addition to all the festivities, the Pirates are in town this weekend.
