Police searching for men accused of stealing DoorDash driver’s car

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — Allegheny County Police are searching for two men who held up a DoorDash driver outside an ATM this morning in Castle Shannon.

The men stole the driver’s blue Honda CR-Z. It happened at the PNC ATM in the Mount Lebanon Shops around 6 a.m. Castle Shannon Police turned the investigation over to the county police. They say the men held the victim at gunpoint.

One of the suspects was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a red ball cap, and a black partial face covering. He displayed a firearm by pointing it at the victim while he was seated in his vehicle. The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a red partial face covering, and black pants. He stood behind the other suspect.

Police said the suspect in the gray hooded sweatshirt took the victims cell phone before they fled the scene in the victims car.

County police said the vehicle was recovered Wednesday night in the Beltzhoover area. It was not occupied.

“I am floored! We live a couple blocks away, and I’m at the MAC machine all the time! I’ve never felt worried or scared or concerned,” customer Beth Harrison said today outside of PNC.

“When you said gunpoint, that’s not very Mount Lebanon at all. Very strange,” said Beth’s son, Joe.

Channel 11 reached out to DoorDash about the incident, they issued this statement:

“What has been reported is deeply concerning and we are urgently investigating in order to take all appropriate action. We are reaching out to law enforcement to assist with their investigation, and we hope those responsible are held accountable.”
