Foggy evening, light rain and cold temperatures possible for Monday

PITTSBURGH — It will be cloudy and foggy this evening with a light mist or drizzle. A light snow/rain mix develops Monday morning to scattered light snow showers through the afternoon. Freezing drizzle is possible so watch for icy slick spots in areas that turn colder faster such as bridges and overpasses.

A coating of up to 1/2″ of snow is possible through Monday night, mainly on trees and grassy surfaces. North and the ridges could see a coating up to 1″.

Much colder air settles in for Tuesday, wind chills in the morning will be in the single digits and high temperatures will only make to the upper 20s. Snow showers are possible again late at night after 9 p.m. Tuesday through about 3 a.m. Wednesday, some snowfall accumulation is possible overnight.

The remainder of the week will stay cold, but an arctic blast moves in the late week and into the weekend. Winds chills will be in the single digits Friday and potentially below zero into Saturday morning.
