TSA gives tips as spring break air travel season ramps up

The travel season is ramping up, and if you plan on flying out of Pittsburgh International Airport, we have the inside scoop from Transportation Security Administration agents on how to make your trip go smoothly.

TSA agents remind passengers:

— Never say you have an explosive device or bomb with you

— Never bring a firearm to a security check point

— Make sure you your ID matches your full name on your boarding pass

Since the airport is busy again, to near pre-pandemic levels, Lead TSA Officer Coya Gillians says first and foremost, arrive early.

“Especially getting here early. We’re still pretty understaffed. I think everyone has a problem,” Gillians said. “But definitely wanna utilize early time to get here to avoid long wait times.”
