Pittsburgh restaurant accused of forcing workers to share tips with managers, supervisors

PITTSBURGH — Federal investigators said employees at a Pittsburgh restaurant were forced to share their tips with managers, supervisors and other employees who do not normally get tipped by customers. Officials said that is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, the restaurant at the center of the investigation was Provision PGH, located at the Federal Galley on the city’s North Shore.

Investigators were able to recover $41,560 for a dozen employees.

A news release said the money was seized in order to pay part of the managers’ salaries.
