Police release name of man in domestic situation turned out to be setup to in lure officers

KILBUCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Kilbuck Township man is accused of calling police to his home and then confronting officers with weapons.

Mark Borio, 54, allegedly called 911 to report a domestic disturbance at his home on Old Camp Horne Road Wednesday night.

According to court documents, when Ohio Township police arrived, Borio was outside, pointing a gun and holding a machete. He was allegedly dressed in camo and wearing a black mask, screaming at police.

Borio eventually retreated into the home and police called for back up.

Channel 11 brought you the scene as a command center was established and police attempted to negotiate with Borio. Eventually, he surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

Police had determined that no one else was at the home and they do not believe there ever was a domestic situation.

“It does appear that the individual provided false information to have officers dispatched to his residence,” police told us. Borio apparently did not indicate a motive and was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

One neighbor, a retired police officer, told Channel 11 the situation is “terrible” and that he gives the officers a lot of credit.
