Turnpike worker injured in hit-and-run in Beaver County

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — A turnpike worker was injured after being hit by a tractor-trailer on Wednesday.

Pennsylvania State Police said the incident occurred at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday at the Beaver Valley exit ramp of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Police said the turnpike employee was standing on the road conducting traffic control when they were struck by an unidentified tractor-trailer, which then drove off.

The victim was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital with undetermined injuries.

The vehicle was described as a red tractor-trailer.
