Preview: Franklin Regional rehearsing 'Anything Goes'

None — Franklin Regional High School is performing “Anything Goes” this year.

“We like to give students a variety of shows during their four years.  We feel that ‘Anything Goes’ demonstrates and utilizes the talent that we have at Franklin Regional,” said director Mark Wolfgang.

Dan Mrachko, who is playing Billy, and Kelly Dodsworth, who is playing Reno, are happy with Wolfgang’s musical choice.

“This is such a classic.  It has wonderful songs, and the storyline is great,” said Dodsworth, a senior.

“I really enjoy the music,” said Mrachko, a junior.

Mrachko was a member of the Pittsburgh Musical Theater for five years.  He’s been dancing since he was 7 years old and has taken voice lessons for a couple of years.

Dodsworth said she hasn’t had any formal training.  Her favorite thing about the role is the songs she sings.

“Singing is my passion, and these songs thrill me.  There is nothing I love more than getting up on stage and singing from my heart,” said Dodsworth.

During our visit to the school, it looked like all of the students were singing from their hearts.

“My cast is amazing.  Our director could not have picked these roles out better.  We have so much fun on stage together,” said Dodsworth.

Show dates are March 1, 2, and 3 at 7:30 p.m. and March 4 at 2 p.m.
