“American Ninja Warrior” returns with special and ninth season

The four-time Emmy Award-nominated series “American Ninja Warrior” will be returning to Channel 11 a bit sooner than expected with an epic showdown: “USA vs. The World.”

The two-hour special will air Sunday at 9 p.m. and will feature top competitors from Team USA, Team Europe and - - for the first time - - Team Australia going head-to-head.

Host Akbar Gbajabiamila and sideline reporter Zuri Hall sat down with “See and Be Seen” to talk about what we can expect from this global competition that they describe as the Olympics of the hit show.

Historic skating rink opening for season

A new-and-improved skating rink is just about ready to open at a historic attraction!

The Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink underwent renovations to remodel the rink and upgrading equipment at the park.

The park will be open for skater Friday, Jan. 31.

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in the running for 10 best in the country

The Pittsburgh’s Children’s Museum has been nominated as one of the 10 best in the country, and you can help decide the outcome.

You can vote here until Feb. 17.

Other nominees include children’s museums in Boston, Denver and Houston.

World of Wheels rolls into the Burgh

America’s premier custom show car series is returning to Pittsburgh this weekend.

The 59th annual Maxmotive World of Wheels will be at the convention center Friday through Sunday.

There, you can see hundreds of custom cars, race cars, trucks, motorcycles and more.

The event also includes different exhibits, a Q & A session and, of course, several celebrity guests.

This is happening all weekend long and tickets are available online.

NFL Play 60 Training Camp

We are just a week away from football’s biggest weekend as the Super Bowl approaches, but first, the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum is challenging kids to get active at the eighth annual NFL Play 60 Training Camp.

Saturday, parents and children of all ages can get in on all the football-related fun, including agility and quickness drills, a touchdown dance contest, full access to the museum and more.

There will also be cooking demonstrations with kid-friendly snacks made with healthy ingredients.

NFL play 60 kicks off Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Heinz History Center.

Gaucho moving to new location

A popular Pittsburgh restaurant that usually has a line out the door is moving locations.

Gaucho Parrilla Argentina took to Facebook Monday to announce it’s moving to a bigger space in the Pittsburgh’s Cultural District.

The restaurant, which opened in 2013, plans to move into the Six Penn Kitchen space in the spring or summer.
