NFL returns for 2020 season

Believe it or not, football is back! The NFL kicked off the new season Thursday night as the Houston Texans took on the Kansas City Chiefs but for Pittsburgh, the real show begins Monday when the Steelers kick off their season against the New York Giants.

Steelers rookies visit Children’s Hospital

Every year, the rookie members of the Pittsburgh Steelers take time to visit patients and families at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, but this year had an interesting twist as the visit was done virtually.

Chase Claypool, Anthony McFarland Jr. and others spent Tuesday calling in to bring smiles and brighten the days of their young fans.

New outdoor beer garden to open in South Side

A socially distant pop-up beer garden is coming to The Highline in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood.

Hop Culture is teaming up with De Fer Coffee and Tea, as well as Cinderlands Beer, for the Lagerlands Socially Distant Pop-Up Beer Garden. Burgh’ers Brewing will also be there serving up food. The pop-up beer garden will be open from Sept. 11 to Nov. 1. The hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Tables must be reserved, and there is a nonrefundable $20 deposit that will be applied to your tab when you leave. Click here to make a reservation/ reserve a table.

Downtown restaurants reopening

Some of your favorite stores, restaurants and more are reopening in downtown Pittsburgh after being closed due to COVID-19.

In Allegheny County, dine-in services close at 11 p.m. and only takeout is allowed afterward. Indoor dining is allowed at 25% capacity and alcohol sales are only allowed during sit-down meals.
