New French creperie, Mel’s Petit Cafe coming to Pittsburgh area

You heard right! Authentic French creperie, Mel’s Petit Cafe will call Mt. Lebanon home on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The new cafe will feature a plethora of homemade baked goods including sweet crepes and savory crepes (galettes) made with buckwheat flour (gluten free). In addition to crepes, the menu will include homemade waffles often enjoyed in France for a sweet snack, coffee and tea.

To make things even sweeter, we received a first look at some of the delicious food on the menu.

Galette with the egg is called La Complète.

La Bechamel, there is also the sweet crepes (nutella, Apple and salted caramel, banana and melted chocolate, sugar)

The waffles (powdered sugar, Nutella)

There will be 2 other savory galettes (The caprese and a smoked salmon and cream cheese with dill one)

In addition to the above, they will also have a maple syrup waffle, a jelly crepe, cakes, muffins, banana and zucchini breads (depending on the days) and pies (dutch apples and fruits).

Everything will be made fresh in the shop to keep it authentic, and it will have a friendly atmosphere.
