79-year-old wakes up to men demanding money inside her Port Vue home

PORT VUE, Pa. — A 79-year-old woman woke up overnight Sunday to two men in her bedroom who demanded money and a safe, police said.

The back door of Louise Kaylor’s Port Vue home was kicked in by the men, who were on either side of her bed when she was woken up.

“I was screaming, ‘Please help me.’ I called out in the name of Jesus,” Kaylor said.

Although the men demanded a safe, Kaylor told Channel 11 News that she doesn’t have one. Instead, they took jewelry and her purse.

When she tried to call 911, the men took her cellphone away from her.

Louise Kaylor’s son, Skip Kaylor, was shocked to learn what happened to his mother.

“I can't believe it. Port Vue was such a nice neighborhood. We used to live with doors open,” Skip Kaylor said. “I can't get over this would happen. It looked planned, doesn't look like this was random.”

Louise Kaylor said she’s glad she didn’t fight back for fear that she would have been hurt.

“I am thankful. I know God was with me. They didn't hurt me,” she said.

Allegheny County police are assisting the Port Vue Police Department in the investigation.
