SCHENECTADY, NY — There's a new beer in town, and it's made using sugar from goat milk.
Beekman 1802 and Brewery Ommegang are teaming up to create Goat Milk Stout Beer.
A private tasting was held Wednesday afternoon in Schenectady, according to WNYT.
The stout is made of several ingredients, including chocolate wheat malt and flaked oats and is brewed using milk sugar.

"When we were researching beer, we came across a historic variety called milk stout which was made in 1802 which was when our farm was built, and we said I wonder if we can make a goat milk stout and so we worked with Ommegang and here's the result," said Josh Kilmer-Purcell of Beekman Brothers.
The beer will be officially launched to the public during the annual Beekman 1802 harvest Fest on Sept. 15 and 16, in Sharon Springs, New York.
