PITTSBURGH — Whatever happened to plans to bring The Eagle to downtown’s dining scene?
It was in spring 2019 that Cincinnati-based Thunderdome Restaurant Group announced it had landed on a location in downtown Pittsburgh for its Eagle Food & Beer Hall, its popular fried chicken restaurant, reaching a deal for a 6,000-square-foot location in the first floor of Eighth and Penn, then a recently completed 135-unit apartment building by Trek Development Group and Q Development.
When the restaurant wasn’t able to open by that summer as originally expected, The Eagle soon faced the inevitable delays that came from the Covid-19 pandemic.
