Goodblend’s regional president talks about medical cannabis firm’s growth plans

PITTSBURGH — With a newly opened retail store on Baum Boulevard and its growing/processing facility developing on the North Side, Goodblend plans to grow even further in its first tent poles in Pennsylvania.

The company is a division of Parallel, a privately held medical cannabis company that has medical and adult-use operations in Florida, Texas, Massachusetts and Nevada. Elizabeth Conway, regional president of Parallel and Goodblend Pennsylvania, said the companies intend to expand operations in the Pittsburgh region.

Goodblend employs about 16 people at its retail store and another two dozen or so at the 120,000-square-foot growing/processing facility. Conway said expansion at both sites is likely, as business and the number of cannabis plants grow: The growing and processing facility could employ between 200 and 500 people.
