Grocery Outlet launches store search in Pittsburgh as part of Pennsylvania expansion

PITTSBURGH — California discounter Grocery Outlet is targeting the Pittsburgh area in which to expand as part of a larger eastern push.

After executives for the company recently announced on LinkedIn that it had hired a local team of CBRE to conduct its search in the region, Grocery Outlets Chief Growth Officer for New Stores and Emerging Markets Layla Kasha confirmed the basics of the retailer scouting in the region in a prepared statement.

“Over the last year, Grocery Outlet has made expanding in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland a priority for the company. In addition to exploring our options in the Pittsburgh region, we have recently opened stores in the Philadelphia area and New Jersey,” she said. “We are still in the early stages of exploring Pittsburgh as an option, and we will keep the community updated as the process evolves. We invite the community to submit ideas for potential locations by using the customer contact form on our website. Wherever we end up, we are looking forward to providing more people with the opportunity to save money and find the unexpected by shopping with us at Grocery Outlet.”
