No different than a shutdown: Restaurant owners express anger, frustration over new mitigation efforts imposed day before Thanksgiving

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s restaurant owners are expressing frustration and anger over another blow to their industry following new mitigation efforts from health officials that directly impact one of the industry’s largest nights of the year: Thanksgiving Eve.

On Nov. 23, Gov. Tom Wolf announced new orders that prohibit the sale of alcohol for on-site consumption at bars, restaurants and privately catered events after 5 p.m. starting on Nov. 25 and until 8 a.m. the next day.
