PITTSBURGH — A paper plant east of Pittsburgh that employs about 300 people is closing in six weeks.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions LLC, a manufacturer of specialty papers, on Tuesday said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the carbonless rolls and security papers business of Appvion Operations Inc.

Financials were not disclosed.

The transaction, expected to be completed in April, will not include any Appvion production assets, according to Pixelle’s release.
