Partners sign off on final approval to clear PIT’s Terminal Modernization Program for takeoff

PITTSBURGH — The $1.4 billion Terminal Modernization Program (TMP) at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is now clear for takeoff.

Officials with the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA), which manages PIT, announced that the final operating agreement needed for the project has been approved by the airport’s airline partners, paving the way for heavy construction to begin this summer and a formal groundbreaking celebration set to commence later this fall.

As part of the seven-year operating agreement that has been approved by PIT’s airline partners, ACAA can now secure long-term bond financing to construct the 700,000-square-foot terminal.
