Philips to shut down some Pittsburgh-area operations

MT PLEASANT, Pa. — Philips will close all of its sleep and respiratory care repair services operations at its Mount Pleasant facility by the end of 2021, according to Silvie Casanova, director of integrated communications at Philips.

Netherlands-based Philips operates manufacturing facilities in Western Pennsylvania, and the company plans to move into new space in Bakery Square this year.

Casanova said the closures will impact “less than 100” employees, and the operations will discontinue in phases starting in April 2021 and ending in October 2021. She said Philips notified the impacted employees in January.
