Pittsburgh ranked as best city for first-time homebuyers

PITTSBURGH — In April, the 2022 Demographia Housing Affordability study named Pittsburgh as the most affordable city in which to buy a home.

The trend of housing affordability in the Steel City continues, as in a recent study, Bankrate.com named Pittsburgh as the best city specifically for first-time homebuyers.

The study ranked 50 metropolitan areas in the U.S. It examined factors including affordability, job markets, housing market tightness, safety and health and wellness. Bankrate compiled its data from sources including the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Labor Department and the FBI.
