PNC enters Las Vegas

PITTSBURGH — Sin City is no longer the gap on PNC’s map.

Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. had a presence in 29 of the nation’s 30 largest metros. But even the $11.6 billion purchase of BBVA USA Bancshares last year left Las Vegas looming and it’s a big gamble not to stake one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.

That’s changed.
