Trulieve to build 508,000-square-foot medical marijuana operation in McKeesport in deal with RIDC

MCKEESPORT — The Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIDC) announced it has sold a significant portion of its Industrial Center of McKeesport complex to Trulieve, a multistate medical marijuana operator.

The deal includes the sale of three buildings — the McKeesport Commons I, McKeesport Commons II and United States Steel Corp.’s former Guard House — that total a combined 228,000 square feet, as well as three neighboring land parcels that total nearly 37 acres. Trulieve aims to use the property for a new 508,000-square-foot processing and cultivation facility expected to employ 800 people, according to an announcement by RIDC.

The combined total sale price for all the property Trulieve bought from RIDC is $10.37 million.
