Be a part of our world

(by Erin Baum, Student)

Come join us for a magical night "under the sea" at Kiski Area High School on March 29th-April 1st! Meet Princess Ariel, a mermaid who wishes to live a life above water with her one true love, Prince Eric. Ariel will have to go through many difficult obstacles, including dealing with the sea witch, Ursula, to reach her goal! Kids, come swim your way in to see Ariel's journey!

The Little Mermaid will include many unique effects such as harnessing actors to create a swimming effect and magnificent costumes and props! When Princess Ariel saved a handsome Prince from a huge shipwreck, she instantly fell in love. Now Ariel will have to convince her stubborn father and friends to let her live out her dream of meeting her Prince and living on land! Ariel will be portrayed by Junior, Becky Minda, and Prince Eric will be portrayed by Freshman, Jack Petrarca, the youngest lead in the show! Other leads are Shelby Glentzer as Flounder, Caleb Dull as Sebastian, Dillon Shuster as King Triton, and Rachel Pittman as Scuttle! Petrarca, playing Prince Eric, says about the show, "I'm really honored to be working alongside so many talented students, and I'm really excited for the show - I think it's going to be a real hit!" Shelby Glentzer, playing Flounder, also shows her enthusiasm saying, "I love being able to play a character that I can relate to and be myself as on a personal level."  The director is Mr. Robert Capanna and the musical director is Mrs. Tammy Hampshire. The magical music from the show comes from lyricists, Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, while the composer is Alan Menken. The musical's choreographer is Renata Marino.
