PITTSBURGH — Hundreds gathered to catch a glimpse of Hines Ward and Kym Johnson's Mirror Ball Trophy at a "Dancing With The Stars" celebration rally at the City-County building downtown Thursday.
The Steelers star promised he'd bring the trophy home in a show of support for his fans.
"For us to win this Mirror Ball Trophy, these fans voted each and every Monday night and it's great to come out and show them support. I think Kym is overwhelmed more than anything," Hines told See & Be Seen.

"I'm totally overwhelmed by this," Kym said. "I said to Hines, 'I hope people turn up.' And he said, 'Yeah, I'm pretty sure they will.' So this is overwhelming and it's just incredible what Pittsburgh did for us, helping us win the Mirror Ball. The support was amazing every week," she said.
Mayor Luke Ravenstahl declared June 30 Hines Ward and Kym Johnson Day in the city of Pittsburgh, and even made Australian-born Kym an honorary Pittsburgher.
The event also included a dance-off, with Hines and Kym showing off a few of their winning moves, drawing cheers and Terrible Towel waving from the large crowd.
Hines said the Mirror Ball Trophy isn't the only memorabilia he took home from the show.
"I kept the last freestyle outfit. I have it in my house. The hat and the whole thing. Because you know, I didn't really think I could win it to be honest with you, and I didn't know what I had signed up for," Hines said.
So which Steeler does Hines think should try "Dancing With The Stars" next?
"I'd like to see Jerome Bettis get out there and shake the rug. He's been known for having great feet and he actually came out and showed his support. So I don't know, ,maybe him being there and seeing it live, maybe he could do it. You know, it's tough. It's a lot harder than it looks. But I'd like to see Jerome give it a shot. I'd just like to see Jerome wearing the outfits," Hines said.
Hines also addressed the question on the minds of many of his fans; whether or not he and Kym are dating.
"I met a great woman in Kym. Our relationship will always be a life-long friendship between both of us and we'll always be there for each other. I just think, what we went through as a couple, and then to top it off with the Mirror Ball Trophy. It's just amazing," Hines said.

Even if they are just "life-long friends," don't be surprised to see the dancing beauty visiting Pittsburgh more often.
Kym is set to appear with Jerome Bettis at the WeddingClickers.com Bridal Show on July 31 at CONSOL Energy Center. She also said she plans to attend a few Steelers football games this fall.
