2 accused in Swissvale bus stop brawl appear in court

SWISSVALE, Pa. — Two men accused of participating in a massive brawl in Swissvale earlier this month appeared in court Wednesday.

Richard McKnight and Aquan McEachen are charged in connection with a fight that broke out at a Woodland Hills School District bus stop that involved at least 70 people.

According to police, the first fight happened at a bus stop near the intersection of South Braddock and Woodstock avenues on Jan 7. Then a second, bigger fight broke out at the same location the next day.

“Everyone will be arrested. Anyone with any involvement at all will be arrested,” Swissvale Police Chief Greg Geppert said.

Geppert said it is not clear what the fight was about and some detectives called it the biggest brawl they’ve ever seen in this neighborhood.

“It was appalling and I am very disappointed,” Woodland Hills Superintendent Alan Johnson said Wednesday.

Officials said the case against McKnight and McEachen will move forward.
