2 men hospitalized after hang glider accident

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Two men were hospitalized after a hang glider crashed in Westmoreland County.

The accident occurred Saturday afternoon in North Huntingdon. The powered glider crashed into some woods near Nehrig Hill Road.

According to our news partners at the Tribune-Review, the men were on their way to a birthday party and were looking for a place to land.

"It looked like they came down and clipped part of a tree and, basically, hit the ground pretty hard," firefighter Rob Leuthold said.

Both men were transported from the scene, one by medical helicopter. Their conditions are still unknown.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified about the crash.
