2 suspects accused in Fayette Co. luring, assault face judge

GEORGES TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two of the suspects accused of beating a man in the parking lot of a Fayette County bar and then kidnapping him appeared in court Tuesday.

Several details of the alleged luring, beating and kidnapping were outlined during Tuesday’s preliminary hearing for Ronald Lee Smith and Christopher Foster.

According to police, the incident happened in the parking lot of a Georges Township bar.

The victim told investigators that three men and a woman lured him to the parking lot by accusing him of stealing a purse.

According to the criminal complaint, the group punched and kicked the victim while yelling at him to get in the truck.

The victim told police he was told he was being taken to the mountains to have his legs broken and then be killed, so he grabbed the steering wheel and crashed the truck.

The truck collided head-on with a pickup truck. A woman and her 8-year-old son in the pickup truck were seriously injured in the crash.
