City of Pittsburgh announces 2023 farmers market schedule

PITTSBURGH — The City of Pittsburgh has announced the schedule for this year’s farmers markets.

Pittsburghers can head to four different farmers markets to get their fresh-picked fruits and vegetables this summer.

All of the markets have fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese and baked goods. Several locations also sell flowers, gifts and hot prepared foods to go.

“CitiParks is excited to make a greater investment into the City’s Farmers Markets to influence the growth of small, local, and sustainably focused businesses,” said Kathryn Vargas, CitiParks Director. “We would also like to thank the Bloomfield Development Corporation for their support in working with us to re-envision the City’s Farmers Markets for 2023.”

The market in Squirrel Hill opens one week early, this Sunday, May 14, to celebrate Mother’s Day. A photo booth and a Mother’s Day Card crafting table for kids will be available.
