Former volunteer fire chief accused of stealing nearly $90,000 from East Carnegie department

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The former chief of the East Carnegie Volunteer Fire Department in Scott Township is accused of stealing nearly $90,000.

Adam Kauer allegedly took more than $84,000 from his department and an additional $4,900 from the Scott Township Fire District, according to court paperwork obtained by Channel 11.

Kauer is accused of forging six checks and used the fire department credit card for hundreds of unauthorized transactions.
