Mom of 4 arrested for what police allegedly found in Pittsburgh home during deadly overdose call

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh woman is facing multiple charges — including endangering the welfare of children — for what police officers allegedly found in her Brookline home while responding to a call for a deadly overdose.

Julie Kernick told officers that the man who had died was her fiance, Del Snee, 41, and that she’d come home to find him unresponsive.

While police were talking to her, they heard what sounded like young children screaming and crying inside the house, according to a criminal complaint.

When officers talked to two of the juveniles, they said they were “frantic and crying” and that there was no food or water for them.

According to a criminal complaint, one of the juveniles told police they’d been locked inside a bedroom all day.

Kernick is scheduled to appear in an Allegheny County courtroom next week.
