Armstrong ice jam causes concern about flooding

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. — An ice jam on the Allegheny River in Armstrong County prompted authorities to evacuate a few people from nearby cabins, county dispatchers said.

The ice jam occurred in Perry Township about 3:40 a.m., causing flooding concerns for nearby cabins.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage, and the jam appeared to have broken up around 7 a.m.The East Brady Fire Department is continuing to monitor the river.
