Arrests made during suspected drug deal in Beltzhoover

PITTSBURGH — Two people were arrested after authorities witnessed a suspected drug deal in Beltzhoover Saturday afternoon.

Dewayne Chatfield, Jr., 28, was seen making the alleged drug transaction with Michelle Szulkowski, 35, in the 800 block of Climax Street, police said.

Officers confiscated 100 stamp bags of heroin; two pills used for the treatment of seizures, panic disorders and anxiety; a hypodermic needle; and about $300 from Szulkowski, police said.

Chatfield was found to be in possession of more than $2,000 and three cellphones. A search of his home uncovered nine stamp bags of heroin and more than $8,000, police said. Multiple bundles of heroin and drug paraphernalia were found in a child's book bag.

Authorities said two children were left alone at Chatfield's home while the alleged transaction took place.
