Bicyclist killed by hit-and-run driver in Point Breeze remembered by family, friends

PITTSBURGH — Dozens of family members and friends gathered Sunday night to remember a man killed in a hit-and-run accident last week in Point Breeze.

Police are still searching for the driver of the car who hit James Price Jr. while he was riding his bicycle.

Family and friends gathered at the scene of the accident, Penn Avenue, Sunday night with candles, balloons and flowers. They also wore T-shirts with Price’s picture.

Price’s mother, Glenice Price, said her son rode his bicycle in the area every day and had already lost more than 100 pounds doing so.

Price’s family said they’re still trying to cope with the tragedy.

“If I just knew what happened to him it would be better,” Glenice Price said. “Or if the person had stopped and tried to help him.”

Investigators said they’re looking for a white sedan with front-end damage.
