McCANDLESS, Pa. - A family doctor was arrested on child pornography charges Thursday morning.

Mark Janosko, 47, was taken into police custody at his McCandless home after authorities said they found thousands of child pornography videos on his computer.

According to police, Janosko confessed to downloading the videos and said he didn’t think he had a problem. He told police he has viewed and downloaded child pornography on and off for years, but never touched a child.

Investigators said the videos were of boys, ranging in age from 5 to 12 years old, exposing themselves and performing sexual acts.

Janosko is facing charges of possessing and disseminating child pornography.

He practices at West Penn Associates in Bloomfield.

Allegheny Health Network released the following statement Thursday:

“We were notified this afternoon by the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office that Mark Janosko, MD, will be arraigned on charges of possessing and disseminating child pornography. He has been placed on a leave of absence pending the investigation and Allegheny Health Network will fully cooperate with law enforcement as they investigate this matter.”
