The body of 63-year-old King Coulter was spotted around 7:10 p.m. in the river behind Charleroi Community Park.
Charleroi Regional police and borough firefighters responded to the scene.
A couple told Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic they spotted the body in the river.
"We were walking down by the park and I happened to look to the side and seen that there was something not right in the water," Patricia Presock said.
Coulter had been reported missing earlier this month. An autopsy will be performed to determine how he died.
