Bomb threat prompts evacuation of Mars High School

MARS, Pa. — A bomb threat at Mars High School prompted students, faculty and staff to be evacuated Tuesday.

Police said a note found in the boys bathroom led to the evacuation of the school.

Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz reported that all students were taken to Mars Middle School while police waited for bomb-sniffing dogs to search the school.

“You have to check these things out in light of what happened in Boston yesterday. I don't know what these kids are thinking, why they would pull something like this today,” said Bill Westerman, Adams Township police.

Police said Tuesday's bomb threat was the third one at the school since December.
