PITTSBURGH - Bones found in Avalon in April 2014 have been identified as belonging to a Trib Total Media employee who went missing in 2013, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office tells Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE.
Daniel Niehaus, of Penn Hills, went missing in May 2013. The remains belonging to Niehaus were discovered along the Ohio River bank on April 15, 2014.

A lab in Texas confirmed Friday that DNA from the bones matched Niehaus’ DNA, according to TribLIVE. The cause of his death has yet to be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Niehaus called into work sick a couple of days before Memorial Day weekend 2013 and then returned to work for one day before his disappearance.
Trib Total Media is offering a $10,000 reward for information about Niehaus’ death.
